Abandoned Star Wars Film Sets in Tunisia

starwars9Photographer Rä di Martino spend a month traveling around Chott el Djerid in Tunisia, to find and photograph three Star Wars sets, showcasing the backdrop of luke skywalker’s home on the fictional desert planet tatooine.Actually finding the sets wasn’t as easy as you might think. Using Google Maps and the knownlegde of a local driver who knew the desert well, she finally stumbled upon her subject.
She also discovered that it was common practice to abandon these sets without tearing them down, leaving them fully intact and crumbling over time, like archeological ruins.
