The tunnels Cu Chi was built in 1940s during the war against the French.The basic idea behind to built this tunnels is to hiding spots during combat or many more purposes which is used by the Viet Cong guerrillas.But life in the tunnels was difficult. Air, food and water were scarce
and the tunnels were infested with ants, poisonous centipedes,
scorpions, spiders and vermin.Now the 120-km long Cu Chi tunnels are turned into a war memorial park,it has become a quite popular tourist attraction.
