Amazing Pumpkin Carving Sculptures   It's that time of year again! Master sculptor Ray Villafane and his crew at Villafane Studios have just started traveling all over the world again to create their masterful works of art...all on pumpkins! From September 19 to 22nd, they were in Ludwigsburg, Germany to attend the biggest pumpkin festival in all of Europe, called Kürbisausstellung. While there, Ray decided to create a few Messerschmidt-inspired pieces. This time, he carved not onto traditional pumpkins, but onto Hubbard squash. A winter squash, the hubbard ranges in color from dark green to gray to blue with orange flesh underneath. They have a tear-drop shape and are often used as a replacement for pumpkins when cooking.

The Worlds Largest Water Wheel, Laxey

The Worlds Largest Water Wheel, Laxey Laxey Wheel (also known as Lady Isabella) is a large waterwheel built in the village of Laxey in the Isle of Man. Designed by Robert Casement, it has a 72-foot-6-inch (22.1 m) diameter, is 6 feet (1.83 m) wide and revolves at approximately three revolutions per minute. It was built in 1854 to pump water from the mineshafts and named "Lady Isabella" after the wife of Lieutenant Governor Charles Hope who was the island's governor at that time. The Laxey Wheel is the largest working waterwheel in the world. The wheel was used to pump water from the Glen Mooar part of the ‘Great Laxey Mines’ industrial complex.

Skogafos - The Most Famous Waterfall in Iceland Skógafoss is a waterfall situated in the south of Iceland at the cliffs of the former coastline. After the coastline had receded seaward (it is now at a distance of about 5 kilometres (3.1 miles) from Skógar), the former sea cliffs remained, parallel to the coast over hundreds of kilometres, creating together with some mountains a clear border between the coastal lowlands and the Highlands of Iceland. The Skógafoss is one of the biggest waterfalls in the country with a width of 25 metres (82 feet) and a drop of 60 m (200 ft). Due to the amount of spray the waterfall consistently produces, a single or double rainbow is normally visible on sunny days. The bridge was designed for a municipality that wished to establish a new city marker along the motorway. Framework The Department of Public Works, the user of the bridge, stated that it wished to use more wood in its constructions. We regarded it as important to elaborate the wooden bridge in such a way that it would be both recognizable and new to Sneek. The contours call to mind the traditional cheese-cover farmhouses of Friesland; the construction evokes reminiscences of the building expertise that it still abundantly present in the old city; the wooden beams reflect the shipbuilding industry, with Sneek as the water recreation city par excellence in the North Netherlands. Sculpture Fallen From the Sky by David Breur David Breuer-Weil was born in London in 1965 and continues to live and work in North London. His work frequently explores ideas of humanity, history and existence. After studying at Central Saint Martin’s School of Art and Clare College, Cambridge University he was awarded a bursary at Sotheby’s where he stayed until 1997 having filled roles in many of the departments. Turtle Receives Artificial Legs In 2008, Japanese fisherman found a badly injured loggerhead turtle tangled in their fishing nets in the Kii Channel. Upon releasing the sea creature, it was discovered that the forelimbs were severed (half of one and a third of the other) with large teeth marks on them most likely due to a shark attack. Now, nearly five years later, the 25-year-old turtle, who now goes by the name Yu Chan, has been fitted with a new, accommodating pair of artificial limbs.

Space Saving Fold Able Furniture Japanese Atelier OPA, is series of highly effective mobile foldable furniture called Kenchikukagu. The Kenchikukagu series consist of a folding work station, a sleep station and a moblie kitchen. A mobile kitchen is combined with a huge table made of natural wood of white oak in order to slide, and the table moves to cover up the kitchen when the kitchen is not used. An LCD TV is equipped to the table with a movable arm, which the resident may watch it by turning it around during working in the kitchen. The table comprises desktop panel and side panels to be ready to assemble and disassemble. When they are folded to move, the space becomes a complete studio apartment.

30 meter Long Concrete Sculpture by Florentijn Hofman The Feestaardvarken is a  30 meter long concrete sculpture  which has the appearance of a  abstracted aardvark with a golden partyhat on. The work is site specific made and was  commissioned by Burgers' Zoo. The sculpture is a present from this 100th years  anniversary  celebrating zoo to the city of Arnhem.
