The Wonderful World’s Smallest Incredible Car That Looks Like a Toy

The Wonderful World’s Smallest Car That Looks Like a Toy

This world is full of unique goods, In which one of the amazing things is a call that is even shorter than a Vespa. It looks like a baby toy. It was difficult to find such types of cars in this world but after the invention of this car. Everyone is surprised after seeing this. This is called the smallest car in the world. The name of this car is P.50 and it was invented in 1962 in the seaside town of Peel on the Isle of Man. He was the engineer Cyrill Cannell, owner and founder of the company Peel Engineering, was impressed by the then-new material fiberglass and started to make boats from the material which is reinforced, and lightweight. At the start of the 1960s, he started experimenting with making cars from the material fiberglass and decided to try to make an ultra-compact, and ultralight vehicle, the final bubble car. He explained the concept of the shortest car in the short documentary and said, “The idea was simply to build a car that was able to take another person, as long as the two people weren't too large,”

The first thing that comes into mind after seeing this car named P.50, was a tiny car. The size of this car was just four and a half meters long and it consisted of three wheels and it was a one-seater model. After this car was the Trident, a beautiful two-seater car with a clear top just like a dome.

This car was the first car to be made on the Isle of Man and this was a successful experiment on the mainland, the reaction on the island after the manufacturing was mixed. It was the fact that it could merge into just about any parking area, people usually do not rely on the invention of new products and hesitate to purchase it because they want a good that is more reliable and buy it after reviewing it from many people. So in that case, the situation was the same people were not interested to buy this product so the demand for this car was not high enough to keep Peel Engineering in Business. The production of original P.50s was just 50 and the other one Tridents was limited to just 80 products and production of both cars has stopped after four years in 1966. After the less demand for these cars, the company, Peel Engineering closed in 1974. If we observe around, we will see fewer than 30 original P.50s and those sell for over 170,000 dollars. But still, there is demand for the smallest car in the world. In 2010, the company took back the original design, the style which was in the 60s, and molded it into modern reliability. The process of making this car into a new version took almost a decade and they changed most of the parts and reproduced it that looked entirely different from the older one.

This is the golden opportunity for the people, who are the car fan, they can buy this car as a kit car, where every component and piece of that goes into a factory and then comes straight to the consumer. There are different twelve colors in it- in which four colors are originally offered by peel, six different colors including Capri blue and British Racing Green.

Will I fit? That is a common question and ask by people and it’s responded to on the FAQ page of the P.50 website of Car. The answer is Yes, you probably will. The strangest thing was 6 feet and nine inches tall.

Austin Mahone's Rusted BMW i8 by MetroWrapz

Austin Mahone's Rusted BMW i8 by MetroWrapz

I still remember the first time I saw the photos—an ultra-modern BMW i8 wrapped to look like it had been dug out of an abandoned warehouse. At first glance, I thought it was a joke. How could anyone take a sleek hybrid sports car and make it resemble a rusted relic from another era? But then I found out the mastermind behind it was MetroWrapz, and the owner of the car was none other than pop star Austin Mahone. Suddenly, it all made sense.

Austin has always had a playful, experimental side, and his car collection reflects that. But this particular project felt different—almost like a statement. The BMW i8 is known for its futuristic design, smooth carbon-fiber curves, and glossy finishes. So transforming it into the exact opposite—gritty, weathered, and rugged—wasn’t just a wrap. It was a rebellion against the predictable.

When I read more about how the wrap was created, the story became even more fascinating. MetroWrapz didn’t just slap on a rusty texture; they engineered it like an art piece. They studied real rust, layering shades of orange, brown, and metallic textures until the surface looked shockingly authentic. The car even had the illusion of scratched metal, oxidized panels, and worn edges—details you’d expect from an old industrial machine, not from a six-figure sports hybrid.

I imagine the moment Austin first saw his i8 after the transformation. He must have laughed, maybe even walked around it twice just to process what he was looking at. It’s the kind of wrap that makes people take a double-take on the street. Some love it. Some don’t know what to think. And that’s exactly what makes it so interesting.

The wrap sparked conversations everywhere—car forums, YouTube channels, social media pages. Car enthusiasts debated it with passion. “Why would he ruin such a beautiful car?” some said. Others praised it as one of the most creative wraps ever done on a celebrity vehicle. But whether people agreed or not, they were talking about it. That alone proves that the design worked.

What I personally love about this story is how it highlights the limitless world of vehicle customization. A car doesn't have to look expensive to be valuable. Sometimes it just needs to reflect personality. Austin Mahone took a risk, and MetroWrapz executed it with perfection—turning a high-tech machine into something that looked like it belonged in a post-apocalyptic movie scene.

By the time I finished reading about this project, I found myself appreciating the artistry behind it. Beneath the humor and shock value, there’s a message about creativity—about not being afraid to express yourself in unexpected ways. And whether or not you’d ever wrap your own car to look like corroded metal, you can’t deny that Austin Mahone’s rusted BMW i8 remains one of the most unforgettable celebrity car transformations to date.
