Budget arrival: Wizz Air lands at the newly opened Al Maktoum International Airport terminal in Dubai.It was a modest Wizz Air plane that was the first to touchdown at Dubai’s new Al Maktoum International Airport terminal, which is tipped to become the world’s largest in 10 years.
Carrying just 100 passengers from Budapest, the low-cost carrier landed on the sprawling runway in the United Arab Emirates’ most flashy city-state, known for its luxury goods and hefty price-tags.The airport has been used by cargo planes since June 2010, and, due to repeated delays, only opened to passenger planes on Sunday.
